The Black Family: A Conversation with Black Families in Alameda
Honoring Black History Month in the City of Alameda; all are welcome
The family is one way of exploring the African American past and present. Local historian Rasheed Shabazz will lead a conversation inspired by the 2021 Black History Month theme, “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity.” This conversation will feature a multigenerational and intergenerational conversation centering Black families of Alameda. Learn from Black families that have been in Alameda for generations and first-generation families that hope their children can call Alameda home. A question and answer discussion will follow the dialogue.
Panelists include:
The Thomas Family (Sandi and Daryl)
Lelia and Omari Diltz
Terrance and Tayari Holliday
Raquel Williams (and her grandmother)
